Volunteer Callout - Living Archive Project

We are thrilled to be capturing the company’s legacy over the past 30 years through the New Earth Theatre Living Archive project, supported by the V&A and funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund.

Alongside our project managers, we are looking for a team of up to 8 volunteers to join our Living Archive Project. You will form a steering group and play a key role in collecting interviews with BESEA artists, creatives and community members across our 30 years as New Earth Theatre. We want the archive to include oral history interviews that bring depth to the photos, videos and documents we’ve collected, and shape our upcoming exhibition.

Examples of activity includes:

March 2025: Archive training with the V&A

March - July 2025: Conducting interviews with BESEA artists, creatives and community members

Summer 2025: Tour of the V&A East Storehouse

September 2025: Living Archive exhibition launch

If you have an interest in heritage, are keen to interview others and want to shape our Living Archive, please fill in our form here.

The deadline is 9am Monday 3 February 2025. If you want to be involved and volunteer in another way, we’d love to hear from you! Fill in the form above (typing N/A in the last questions), or email us with the heading ‘Living Archive Project Volunteer’ to hello@newearththeatre.org.uk. Volunteers will be selected in February 2025.
