A sexy horror rom-com exploring what takes root in the space between superstition and rationality. Starring Olivier Award nominee Mei Mac, The Hungry Ghost is the debut play from Mei Leng Yew, directed by New Earth Theatre Artistic Director Ailin Conant.
In collaboration with Kakilang, With Spice, ESEA Creatives Scotland, Hannah Low (with support from National Theatre of Scotland) and Dance Base — this Edinburgh edition is a two-hour session of sharings from our partners, followed by an open exchange for inspiration, resources and support amidst the Edinburgh Fringe Festival hustle.
As part of the Open Works Festival , the BESEA artists and companies New Earth have been supporting will present work developed through the programme. Tickets are now on sale.
Drawing inspiration from the real life of African samurai Yasuke, New Earth Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe present a work-in-progress sharing of Othello, set in medieval Japan in the Shakespeare and Race Festival 2026.
