Born in 1976, Natsko grew up in Tokyo, and studied educational psychology at Keio University in Tokyo before moving to England. She graduated with a B.A. Illustration from University of Brighton in 2005, and made her way to London where she now works on an increasing number of worldwide commissions.
Her illustrated book, Last Paper Crane, received the UK Literacy Association Book Award in 2021. Broadway Market, another book she illustrated, was shortlisted at World illustration Awards 2021. Her works have been published by Louis Vuitton and Phaidon Press. She is also an author of two children’s books.
Inspired by fauna and flora, buildings and people from different cultures, some of Natsko’s landscape consists of hundreds of layers in Photoshop, others more than a thousand, digitally collaged with her photographs, drawings and found textures. She loves the tension different collage materials bring to her artwork.
