Lucy is an actor, writer, filmmaker, published poet, playwright & non-fiction writer (transracial adoption, cultural dislocation and identity). Her first professional acting credit was the lead opposite David Yip in PING PONG (’86), the first UK feature film to explore the history and challenges facing the British-Chinese community.
Other acting credits: The Good Neighbour (’19), Call The Midwife (’17), Casualty (’17), Something Good: The Mercury Factor (’14), Eastenders (’98), Secrets & Lies (‘96), Julius Caesar, Bristol Old Vic (’87) — the first female British East Asian cast in a major Shakespearian role; Drink the Mercury earnt her a TMA nomination in ‘90. In 2010, Lucy was an OFFIE award nominee, for Hungry Ghosts.
Lucy has been commissioned to write theatre works by Nimble Fish Arts, The Royal Court Theatre, Paines Plough/Tamasha, Komola Collective, ArtsEd, Moongate Productions and Papergrang Theatre.
