This year’s 2017 Yellow Earth Academy students undertook a 2 week intensive course focusing on Acting for Camera and under the direction of award winning filmmaker Lab Ky Mo made 2 short films, Party and Dormitory. In addition there were classes in movement, voice, acting for camera, stage combat and improve delivered by tutors from ALRA and Yellow Earth.
There were talks on the do’s and dont's of commercial castings with Johnny Ong and 'Why Drama School?' with ALRA director Adrian Hall as well as life as a graduate BEA actor with Jeremy Ang Jones. The students also went to see Tang Shu-Wing’s Titus 2.0 at new Diorama Theatre.
On September 25th the 2 films; ‘Party’ and ‘Dormitory’, written directed and edited by Lab Ky Mo were screened at The Hospital Club in front of an appreciative and receptive audience.
Congratulations to all of the students. They impressed everyone with their nuanced and professional performances with the films brilliantly edited by Lab Ky Mo. An impressive feat achieved in such a short space of time.
Last but not least a big thank you to ALRA as always, for enabling the Academy to be a fully funded course.
