Our 2015 Yellow Earth Academy culminated with an impressive public presentation by the students. 16 brave and talented students undertook an intensive course in movement, voice, acting for camera, auditions techniques and text work led by David Lee -Jones and Lab Ky Mo from Yellow Earth and tutors from ALRA.
There were talks on casting and the industry from Casting Director Annie Rowe and actors Haruka Kuroda and Siu Hun Li.
A session entitled ‘Why Drama School?’ explored actor training with current ALRA actors Jeremy Ang Jones and Alex Chang, YET Artistic Associate Tina Chiang and Sara Houghton from The Oxford School of Drama. The students also went to see Volpone at the RSC and Lampedusa at Soho Theatre, both featuring BEA actors.
The week culminated on Friday evening with an impressive public presentation by the students. Delivering monologues to an audience of strangers takes some guts but they all rose to the occasion.
Congratulations to all of them and to directors David Lee-Jones and Hannah Quigley for an excellent evening.
Last but not least a big thank you to ALRA for supporting the Academy.
